Soul Care Circles

Why Soul Care Circles?

There are many modalities to healing and liberation, this is one of them.

People of the Global Majority are masters of shape-shifting, code-switching, and disassociating as a means of self preservation and survival. We don’t have many spaces to speak freely and give room to our authenticity.

After spending a lifetime molding yourself to fit into a society that does not care for you, it takes time to discover and connect to your authentic self, to allow your true self to be seen and known.

What are soul Care Circles?

A private space to hold and discuss weighty things within the safety of trust and community. To share and speak from a tender place, an intense one, or an angry one. To show up fully and engage in dialogue that goes beyond the confines of polite, light-hearted conversation without fear of judgment or rejection.

It is an invitation to go deeper, to take it there, to say the thing you want to say in the presence of community that honors your wisdom, curiosity, and insight. Think of times when you wanted to talk about something but hesitated because it felt like too much. Like you were too much. Like the company around you could not hold it with you. Like you would ruin the vibe. Like you are annoying others with the intensity of your questions or thoughts. Like it wasn’t the right time, setting, company...

A Soul Care Circle is a space to explore “too muchness.” Some of these topics may seem insignificant on the surface or ones people don’t want to touch, but that you long to unpack in sacred community. It is an invitation to “go there,” but not alone. It is an opportunity to move out of isolation and into connection without watering yourself down for approval.

So Anything Goes in the Circle?

Any space created and facilitated by Thambusami will always be decolonial in nature. All participants are expected to operate in this spirit and intention. Contrarians and devil’s advocates need not come. Rigidity, condescension, and authoritative and domineering personalities will not work in this setting.

This space is for people who are curious about themselves and others, constant learners, self-aware and introspective, and who know that humility is not the same as humiliation. It is ok to be wrong and to change your mind.

We are constantly learning and unlearning, and no one has all the answers. You cannot engage in liberation work while holding onto oppressive ways of being. According to the theme of the circle, intentions and rules of engagement will be set and participants will agree to them.

Soul Care Circle

Motherhood IS Revolutionary

The Revolutionary Motherhood Soul Care Circle is an intentional space for Mothers raising children with a lens for justice and ethics to embody it.

This is for Mothers training their children to think critically and to recognize and acknowledge systems of oppression such as race, caste, class, gender, sexuality, and how they are used to criminalize, exploit, and harm communities.

This is for Mothers who invite their children to practice dissent.

Who cultivate courage. Nurture tenacity. Embolden their children to bring down systems of oppression, not uphold them.

This is for Mothers who want their children to be more than just “nice” but to move in transformative ways that allow them and those around them to flourish. Children who recognize and honor the inherent dignity of others.

This is for Mothers of the Global Majority who desire more than play dates and “Mom” friends, but a community to dream revolutionary dreams together.

This Soul Care Circle is a liberative space for Mothers at any stage of the journey, to commune with one another, to share, to grieve, to hold space, to listen, to encourage, to co-create.

Circles will commence on April 30th and will meet every Tuesday for 90 minutes until May 21st. There are 2 options:

DAYTIME CIRCLE - 8AM PST/ 10AM CST/ 11AM EST and an EVENING CIRCLE - 4:30PM PST/ 6:30 PM CST/ 7:30PM EST.
